Possible Murder Suspect on the Run
On September 26th, 2013, Naquia Danielle Catching was found dead at her apartment in the 4800 block of 118th Place in Hawthorne California. She lived with her mother and her stepfather Alvin Hunt Jr. Alvin Hunt Jr., age 54, has a prior conviction for assault with a deadly weapon in 1989 and was considered a person of interest after Catching’s body was found with multiple stab wounds. Hunt became a possible suspect when he disappeared before the authorities arrived at his apartment. The Hawthorne police have now considered him a possible main suspect in this murder and have posted wanted fliers stating that Hunt is armed and dangerous. According to police, a family member told them that Hunt had called Catching’s mother and told her that he had a surprise waiting for her at the apartment. When the mother arrived at her apartment she found her daughter dead and no sign of Hunt. Police have no motive for the murder and say that Hunt may have connections in Long Beach, Oregon, and Cincinnati. Hunt and Catching’s mother also have a 9 year-old child together who is safe with his mother. Police have asked for the help of residents in finding this man.
